About Ray

Ray has over 30 years experience in primary care and administrative medicine, primarily within an Integrated Delivery Network. He has led numerous collaborations between Health Systems. Ray has served as a senior healthcare executive, spending the majority of his career with Geisinger Health System. Ray played a critical role in implementing ProvenCare for pharmacy and therapeutics, particularly biologics, while at Geisinger. Ray was the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at Geisinger Health Plan from 2012 to 2015, where he led clinical efforts for Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, Exchange and self-funded populations. He led or oversaw P & T, Credentialing, Quality, and Network development and optimization efforts. Prior to that, he was a Regional Medical Director and served as the VP of Pharmacy at the health plan. Since retiring from Geisinger, Ray has served as Senior Advisor for the Health Transformation Alliance, addressing medical and pharmaceutical benefit design, quality health initiatives and specialty drug management and strategy. Additionally, Ray has worked with St. Luke’s University Health System, helping lead clinical integration efforts, particularly growing and maturing critical network relationships with key independent primary care and specialty providers. He assisted in establishing an accountable care organization and helped improve key quality metrics in performance-based contracts with key insurers.

At Precision, Ray has been involved in value-based contracting efforts and partnerships. He has developed and implemented quality education programs on CMS Stars, MIPS/MACRA, and HEDIS/NCQA. He has provided education on IDN evolution and their current priorities, as well as how relationship management can be used to leverage access decisions.
